Mark Durzi | AD SME
Mentor / Director of Operations

Bachelor’s in Industrial Engineering – University of Arizona – 2001 Master’s in Business Administration – Queens University – 2005

Started my career as a Project Coordinator in a water & wastewater infrastructure construction, operation, and maintenance company which employed approximately 3,000 employees. Was promoted to Project Engineer, then to Project Manager, and then to General Manager, a role which I assumed for 12 years from 2009 - 2011.

During my 21 years in the construction, operation, and maintenance sector, I spearheaded the execution of various projects around the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, doubled the company’s annual turnover and increased profitability by an average of 300%.

In 2021 I decided to leave the construction industry and move into a new field of work. When presented with the opportunity to establish and lead operations at the Abu Dhabi Residents Office, the decision was straight forward. This included the setup of a Center where residents can communicate with ADRO; the setup of an Enquiries Team to receive enquiries from residents and provide accurate responses in a timely manner; the setup of an Eligibility Team to receive and process applications for the Abu Dhabi golden visa which included the development of an application portal and eligibility guide; and the setup of Teams to process applications after eligibility approval and follow-up applications with service centers and the immigration department.

In addition, my responsibilities included the hosting of awareness sessions to residents and to local and international entities and prospects. I have represented the Abu Dhabi Residents Office as a speaker at various prestigious events including GITEX and the Abu Dhabi Finance Week.
