The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI) has announced the formation of a task force dedicated to representing the interests of startups and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) registered in Abu Dhabi. This strategic initiative aims to advance the Chamber’s vision of positioning the Emirate as the premier business destination in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region by 2025.

Operating under the ADCCI umbrella, the Startups and SMEs Task Force is committed to empowering businesses and enhancing their contribution to Abu Dhabi's economic development. Through collaboration with government agencies and the private sector, the task force seeks to address challenges faced by startups and SMEs, promote innovation, and drive economic diversification, ensuring sustained growth.

With startups and SMEs employing over 46% of the Emirate’s workforce and contributing 42.8% to Abu Dhabi's non-oil GDP, the task force aims to create an enabling business environment tailored to their needs. By closely monitoring market dynamics and providing support, it aims to strengthen their role as a key pillar for building a diversified and sustainable economy.

His Excellency Fouad Darwish, Board Member of ADCCI and Chairman of the Startups and SMEs Task Force, emphasized the group's role in developing plans and policies to attract enterprises to promising sectors, particularly in modern technology. Additionally, the task force will lead programs and initiatives to equip startups and SMEs with necessary guidance and skills, facilitating cooperation and knowledge exchange.

CEO of ADCCI, His Excellency Ahmed Khalifa Al Qubaisi, highlighted the significance of the task force in bolstering the growth of startups and SMEs. He emphasized the collaborative efforts of ADCCI and government entities in creating an enabling environment for their development, aligning with Abu Dhabi’s long-term vision.

The task force aims to accelerate the growth of startups and SMEs by formulating strategic plans and policies, fostering an environment conducive to knowledge exchange and experience sharing. These efforts will empower enterprises to innovate and diversify their investments, contributing to a competitive economy.

Sectoral task forces play a crucial role in facilitating communication between government entities and the private sector, attracting investors, and promoting sustainable economic development in Abu Dhabi.
