FTA Enables Corporate Tax Registration at 23 Government Centres

FTA Enables Corporate Tax Registration at 23 Government Centres

The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) has extended the service for submitting Corporate Tax registration requests to 23 Government Service Centres situated across the UAE. This move allows taxpayers to directly register via the "EmaraTax" platform, a digital tax service operational 24/7. Additionally, taxpayers have the option to seek guidance from accredited tax agents listed on the FTA's official website. This initiative aims to expand service channels, fostering tax compliance by providing accessible services and expert assistance.

Upon completion of application procedures and verification of data accuracy at the service centres, the FTA experts internally review the applications. Successful applicants receive their Tax Registration Number (TRN) via email provided during the corporate tax registration process.

The FTA has signed cooperation agreements to accredit several government service centres, ensuring efficient service provision. Accredited centres' specialists are trained to smoothly and accurately submit registration applications for those liable to corporate tax. These measures aim to enhance registration and tax compliance rates.

His Excellency Khalid Ali Al Bustani, Director General of the Federal Tax Authority, emphasized the importance of adhering to the specified timeframes for submitting Corporate Tax registration applications. Taxable persons holding licenses issued in January and February must submit their applications by May 31, 2024, to avoid tax law violations.

Al Bustani stated, “As part of its comprehensive development plans, the Federal Tax Authority has expanded the channels for providing the Corporate Tax registration service through Government Service Centres. This step aligns with the expansion of the FTA's services, particularly with the implementation of Corporate Tax since June last year. Furthermore, the FTA has intensified its awareness initiatives, aiming to educate on Corporate Tax's significance, objectives, compliance requirements, and tax legislation in general. Additionally, the FTA has diversified its service channels.”

Zahra Al Dahmani, Director of Taxpayer Services Department at the FTA, emphasized the FTA's commitment to customer happiness and continuous service improvement. The FTA strives to ensure its services reach all individuals and businesses subject to taxes, offering support and addressing inquiries during tax compliance procedures. Effective communication with representatives of various business sectors facilitates and expedites tax procedures.

Al Dahmani added, "In collaboration with strategic partners, the FTA ensured full readiness before launching corporate tax registration at accredited government service centres. Service provisions were aligned with best standards to meet customer expectations."

The FTA reiterated that Corporate Tax registration is available 24/7 through the EmaraTax digital platform. The registration process involves four steps, typically taking around 30 minutes to complete. Taxpayers already registered for Value Added Tax (VAT) or Excise Tax can access EmaraTax, select the taxpayer from the list, complete the Corporate Tax registration request, and submit required documents. Upon approval, applicants can generate a Tax Registration Number for Corporate Tax purposes.

Taxpayers subject to Corporate Tax who are not yet registered must create a new user profile. New users can access the EmaraTax platform via the FTA’s e-Services portal, where they can create an account using their email address and phone number. Once the user profile is established, they can proceed with registration, selecting the 'Corporate Tax registration' option and completing the process effortlessly.
