UAE-based language technology company Tarjama has raised $15 million in a Series A funding round, led by Global Ventures and joined by Wamda Capital, TA Ventures, Phaze Capital, Golden Gate Ventures, and Endeavor Catalyst.
Founded in 2009 by Nour Al Hassan, Tarjama has become a regional leader in Arabic-first AI, powering language solutions across 50+ languages and 22 Arabic dialects for more than 700 global clients.
Powering the Arabic AI Revolution
This funding round will fuel the growth of Arabic.AI, Tarjama’s enterprise-focused agentic AI ecosystem built specifically for Arabic-speaking markets. The platform is powered by Pronoia V2, a purpose-built Arabic Large Language Model (LLM) that already outperforms major global models like GPT-4o, Cohere, and DeepSeek-V3 on Arabic tasks. “Arabic has been underserved by AI for far too long,” said Nour Al Hassan, Founder and CEO of Tarjama. “Our flagship model, Pronoia, is faster, more secure, and more cost-effective than any other solution on the market. It’s built for the realities of Arabic language, culture, and enterprise demands—and we’re just getting started.”
Scaling for the Agentic AI Era
The funds will be used to:
-
Double the size of Tarjama’s engineering and research teams
-
Expand sovereign infrastructure across MENA
-
Launch an AI Academy to upskill enterprise and government leaders in Arabic-speaking countries
With a deep understanding of local dialects, business context, and cultural nuance, Tarjama is uniquely positioned to lead the shift to agentic AI systems in a region with over 400 million Arabic speakers and a $3 trillion digital economy. Said Murad, Senior Partner at Global Ventures, commented: “Tarjama’s technology and traction are remarkable. Pronoia is a true market leader, purpose-built for a region where generic AI tools have consistently fallen short. We’re proud to support this next chapter of scale.”
Profitable Growth and Global Potential
Tarjama is already profitable and has reported 20% CAGR in revenue over the past three years. With a proprietary dataset unmatched in Arabic AI, and a rapidly growing product suite, the company is poised to become a global benchmark for enterprise-grade, Arabic-first AI. With new backing from top-tier investors and a fast-expanding AI ecosystem, Tarjama is rewriting what’s possible in Arabic language technology—equipping enterprises to move faster, smarter, and more locally fluent in one of the world’s most dynamic markets.
