Hub71: 2020 Impact Report

Thought Leadership

In March 2019, Hub71 launched to help stimulate Abu Dhabi’s economic diversification, shifting it from a reliance on oil revenues, to attracting startups and entrepreneurs to the city and driving the innovation mandate of the UAE government. On this journey, Hub71 has set out to become a driving force in Abu Dhabi’s digital transformation.

Being a flagship initiative of the Ghadan 21 program, Hub71's community brought together key enablers from global multinational corporations to leading local players to ensure tech founders can stimulate business opportunities, investment and deepen the talent pool, all of which are critical elements to supporting the UAE's future economy.

Since the beginning, Hub71 sought to select global startups with the highest potential. In one year, it has grown its community to 102 startups. 209 founders coming from 20 countries and across 16 different tech sectors and specialties have to date chosen Abu Dhabi as their springboard to future growth.

Since starting, Hub71 has also established global partnerships across the world to create business opportunities; working with regulators and making the process of setting up and doing business efficient and seamless for tech startups and digital companies.
